Uncovering the hidden treasures of European folk literature
Serbian Fairy Tales project is an international collaboration that crosses time, culture and art form. A Literature and Live Literature project, it includes a book with illustrations (for all ages), performance storytelling with music (for adult audiences) and a series of workshops (for children and young people).
The inspiration for the project arose from the 2012 bicentenary of the first publication of Grimms' Children's and Household Tales, the opportunity that storytelling affords to link British and world cultures and the proximity of the London Cultural Olympiad.
The project is supported by Arts Council England and Serbian Council of Great Britain.
